Philippine Cultural Arts Workshop 2026

A Celebration of Filipino Tradition

Few experiences capture the soul, rhythm, and pride of a people as powerfully as cultural dance. This summer 2026, Creative Hearts United proudly launches the Philippine Cultural Arts Workshop 2026 (Celebrating Heritage, Inspiring Communities), a vibrant programme that immerses participants in the beauty and diversity of Filipino tradition.

The award-winning Yorkshire Filipino Group (YFG) Cultural Dance Troupe stands at the heart of this initiative. This dynamic ensemble captivates audiences with electrifying performances at cultural festivals across the country. Through their artistry, they bring the colours, stories, and rhythms of the Philippines to life, offering audiences not just a performance but an unforgettable cultural experience. The workshop pieces are choreographed by Revson Ignacio, with Vhie Linford contributing to and supporting the choreography process.

Learning Through Dance and Culture

This workshop introduces participants to the rich tapestry of Philippine cultural dance, featuring traditional pieces such as Karatong and Bulaklakan. Beyond learning steps and choreography, each session explores the history, meaning, and regional roots behind every movement— from harvest celebrations and rural life to nature‑inspired storytelling. Through the programme, participants develop teamwork, discipline, and stage confidence, while gaining a deeper appreciation of Filipino heritage and its strong connection to community, land, and cultural identity.

Performing at Cultural Festivals

As part of the 2026 programme, participants will have the exciting opportunity to perform at Filipino cultural festivals, including events in Cheshire East and Bradford. Through these performances, they will celebrate identity and unity while bringing communities together through music and dance. Audiences will experience colourful traditional costumes, high-energy ensemble performances, authentic music, and a powerful expression of Filipino pride.
