The Filipino Communities in Bradford and Leeds are beaming with pride as the NJr Drum & Lyre Corps was awarded Best Group at the 41st Barrio Fiesta sa London 2025 Cultural Grand Parade, organised by TFC Europe and the Philippine Centre.

This beloved cultural event brought together vibrant performances that celebrated the richness of Filipino heritage in the UK. Among all the dazzling groups, NJr Drum & Lyre Corps stood out with their precision, passion, and infectious energy—delivering a performance that resonated with both the judges and the crowd.
Winning the Best Group Award is not just a recognition—it’s a celebration of dedication, teamwork, and cultural identity. Founded by Nina Ricci Frontera Butor, the NJr Drum & Lyre Corps is composed of talented teens from the Filipino community in Bradford and Leeds, each one carrying with pride the rhythm of heritage and the spirit of unity.
Supporting them every beat of the way is Creative Hearts United, a UK-based charity that backs Philippine arts and cultural initiatives tailored specifically for the Filipino community in Leeds and Bradford. Their support ensures groups like NJr have the resources and platforms to thrive and showcase their talents on national stages.
“This achievement reflects what happens when cultural passion meets community support. We are proud to uplift Filipino excellence,” shared a representative from Creative Hearts United.
From tireless rehearsals and coordinated travel to the final parade march, NJr Drum & Lyre Corps demonstrated everything that makes the Filipino Community in Leeds and Bradford so inspiring: unity, pride, and unshakable spirit.
Congratulations once again to NJr Drum & Lyre Corps—you make us proud to celebrate who we are, loud and clear!
