Kickstarting the Yorkshire Filipino Group (YFG) Dance Troupe 2025 Project

The Yorkshire Filipino Group (YFG) Dance Troupe is gearing up for an exciting year ahead! With the support of Creative Hearts United, we recently held our first planning meeting with choreographers Tebs Licos, Revson Ignacio, Vhie Linford, Emma Chu, and Dolce Valencia to lay the groundwork for our 2025 performances.

As we shape this year’s project, our goal remains clear—to promote Philippine arts and culture through dance while creating meaningful experiences for both performers and audiences. We are eager to showcase the beauty of Filipino traditions across the UK, reaching both British and Filipino communities with our performances.

Beyond the stage, we aim to provide artistic opportunities, promote social inclusion, encourage volunteerism, and support amateur artists in a thriving Filipino community in Leeds and across Yorkshire. Through this project, we hope to create a welcoming space where people can engage with culture, express their creativity, and build strong connections.

We are also thrilled to share that we have received grant funding from various arts and cultural organisations, including the Leeds City Council‘s Leeds Cultural Investment Programme. This support will help us turn our plans into reality and bring our performances to different venues across the country.

With the groundwork now being set, we are looking forward to finalizing our lineup and beginning rehearsals. Stay tuned as we embark on this journey to celebrate Filipino dance and culture!
