Our Impact in Filipino Community in Leeds and the UK

Our Filipino Community Involvement Starts Here

Our charity initiative is aimed at promoting and educating the public on the rich cultural heritage of the Philippines in the Filipino community in Leeds. This initiative seeks to engage individuals, social clubs, and Filipino children and young adults in a vibrant tapestry of activities, showcasing the diversity of Philippine folk dances, music, arts and crafts.

Cultural Education

Cultural Dance Workshops

We managed and facilitated the Philippine cultural dance workshops and helped form the Yorkshire Filipino Group Cultural Dance Troupe. The rehearsal workshop began every spring, featuring a contemporary interpretation of various Philippine folk dances. The performance aims to blend tradition with innovation, creating a mesmerising experience.

So far, a total of 50 individuals have signed up from Leeds, West Yorkshire and the surrounding areas for the summer tours, with performances at the Bradford Barrio Fiesta, London Barrio Fiesta, Ryde Illumination Carnival at the Isle of Wight, and the Cheshire Barrio Fiesta.

Social Outreach

Community Celebrations

Social isolation can often be pervasive, particularly in communities that may feel distanced from their cultural roots. We break down these barriers by creating opportunities for community-building. We engage in social outreach by participating in birthday and Christmas parties. We partnered with various Filipino individuals, groups and associations such as the Renaltyes, a group of renal nurses in Leeds, and Yorkshire Filipino Groups.

These events bring the community together, fostering a sense of belonging and joy. They provide opportunities for cultural exchange and strengthen community bonds.

Nurturing Talent & Passion

Building Skills and Showcasing Talent

Through the opportunities we create—productions, exhibitions, and performances—artists of all ages can showcase their talents, not just as side pursuits, but as meaningful expressions of who they are. These moments provide an outlet to step beyond the boundaries of daily professions, giving individuals the chance to fulfil dreams they once set aside.

By offering resources, guidance, and platforms for expression, we help turn passion into purpose, and purpose into an enduring celebration of Filipino creativity.

Connecting Filipino Hearts and Lives

Filipino Parties

Filipino gatherings are more than just celebrations—they are vibrant expressions of our culture that strengthen community bonds. They showcase our unique traditions of joy, music, and togetherness while offering opportunities for social connection and economic participation. In doing so, they enhance the quality of life for our community members. Our efforts particularly support those in the healthcare sector, helping them maintain a harmonious work-life balance and reconnect with the spirit of home.

Youth Empowerment

Guiding Young Talents

We are passionate about empowering young people to embrace their cultural heritage. We guide Filipino children and young adults in the right direction by actively participating in a variety of cultural activities.

We secured a dance studio for rehearsals, offering a professional space to refine their technique. With refreshments on hand during each practice, these young performers stayed energised and focused on bringing their best performances. Creative Hearts United purchased equipment and other essential props, providing a foundation for this lively and intricate dance.

Preserving Our Filipino Identity

Celebrating the Arts, Traditions, and Heritage of the Philippines

This encompasses a wide range of elements that form the tapestry of Filipino culture, including visual and performing arts such as traditional dances, music, and paintings. It also extends to the preservation of Filipino crafts, both traditional and contemporary, which are cherished for their artistic and historical significance.
