A Heartfelt Thank You: Two Years of Creativity, Culture, and Community

A Milestone Worth Celebrating

As Creative Hearts United marked its 2nd anniversary on 13 November 2025, the charity continues to flourish as a hub for Filipino arts and cultural expression in West Yorkshire and beyond.

From humble beginnings to nationwide recognition, the past year has been one of growth, connection, and creativity—proving once again that art has the power to unite hearts and strengthen communities.

Bringing the Philippines to the UK

In 2025, Creative Hearts United hosted cultural dance workshops that immersed participants in the vibrant traditions of the Philippines, including the Pintados Festival and the beloved Tinikling dance.

These workshops didn’t just teach choreography—they offered participants, many of whom were British Filipinos, a way to reconnect with their roots, learn about their heritage, and build confidence through performance.

Through these sessions, a new group was born—the Yorkshire Filipino Group Dance Troupe—a collective of passionate young dancers who would soon represent Filipino culture on major stages across the UK.

Performing Across the Nation

Creative Hearts United’s second year saw the organisation’s reach expand far beyond Leeds, with the Yorkshire Filipino Group Dance Troupe performing at four major Filipino and multicultural events across the country:

  • London Barrio Fiesta (Surrey)20 July 2025
  • Cheshire East Barrio Fiesta (Crewe)26 July 2025
  • Ryde Illuminated Carnival (Isle of Wight)30 August 2025
  • Asian Global UK Coronation Night (London)25 October 2025

“One of the year’s most memorable highlights was the troupe’s collaboration with Equas IW on its ‘Breach of Dreams’ project during the Ryde Carnival on the Isle of Wight, where they proudly won 1st Prize in the Illuminated Procession category.”
