This involves acquiring funding for expenses, venues for dance rehearsals, and supervising costume design and production.

Social Outreach

Social isolation can often be pervasive, particularly in communities that may feel distanced from their cultural roots. We break down these barriers by creating opportunities for community-building.

YFG Cultural Dance Troupe

We launched the Sining Pilipinas (Philippine Arts) community initiative, which has led to the formation of the Yorkshire Filipino Group Cultural Dance Troupe. The rehearsal workshop began in the summer of 2024, featuring a contemporary interpretation of various Philippine folk dances. The performance aims to blend tradition with innovation, creating a mesmerizing experience.

A total of 20 individuals have signed up from Leeds, West Yorkshire and the surrounding areas and will be touring this summer of 2024, performing at the Bradford Barrio Fiesta on 1 June 2024 and the Cheshire Barrio Fiesta sa Cheshire East on 27 July 2024.

Collaborations

We have been involved in and supported various Filipino communities and groups across the country. Our involvement ranges from facilitating events, assisting with design concepts, choreography, curating, exchange of expertise, managing touring group, funding, and more.

These are some of the Filipino communities and social groups we have worked with over the past years, Yorkshire Filipino Group, Filipino Community Bradford, Cheshire East Filipino Community, Filipino Leeds Association, Renalytes, Asian Global UK and Equals Isle of Wight, Philippines EuroAsia, Barrio Fiesta Ltd. (London Barrio Fiesta sa Hounslow), and Philippine Centre (Barrio Fiesta London).

Award-Winning Projects

We have established partnerships with multiple charitable organisations and social groups to engage in cultural competitions nationwide. Noteworthy events include the London Barrio Fiesta sa Hounslow and Ryde Illumination Carnival 2023 on the Isle of Wight, where we achieved first place. Additionally, at the Philippine Centre 40th Barrio Fiesta sa London 2024 in collaboration with TFC, we proudly secured third prize.

Social Gatherings

We engages in social outreach by participating in birthdays and Christmas parties. These events bring the community together, fostering a sense of belonging and joy. They provide opportunities for cultural exchange, strengthen community bonds. Enhancing the well-being of the participants, especially for Filipinos working in the healthcare sector around Leeds, these gatherings serve as essential outlets to engage with their peers outside of work.
