Yorkshire Filipino Group

YFG is best known for its vibrant cultural performances, and participation in multicultural events across the UK.

Yorkshire Filipino Group (YFG) is a community organisation founded in 2023 by Filipino amateur and dance enthusiasts across Yorkshire, dedicated to promoting Filipino culture, heritage, and values among Filipinos and the wider public.

Its cultural dance troupe has participated in several competitions nationwide, winning multiple awards for its unique and colourful costumes and performances.

Creative Hearts United is a proud member of YFG, supporting its mission and collaborating on cultural events that showcase the richness of Filipino heritage while celebrating the diversity of Yorkshire.

NJr Drum and Lyre Corps

UK’s first Filipino drum and lyre ensemble. From humble beginnings, it has grown into a nationally recognised group.

NJr Drum & Lyre Corps, founded in 2010 in Bradford by Ms. Nina Ricci Frontera Butor with support from the Filipino Community Bradford (formerly the British-Filipino Association of Bradford), is the UK’s first Filipino drum and lyre ensemble. From humble beginnings, it has grown into a nationally recognised group, regularly opening Santacruzan processions and Barrio Fiesta parades across the country. Dedicated to inspiring Filipino youth to connect with their heritage, NJr fosters pride, identity, and community spirit through this vibrant festival tradition.

Since 2023, NJr and Creative Hearts United have worked closely together, from member recruitment, park rehearsals, to major festival performances, united in preserving and promoting Filipino culture across Yorkshire and beyond.

Cheshire East Filipino Community

Cheshire East Filipino Community

A not-for-profit organisation responsible for organising the first barrio fiesta in Cheshire East in 2024.

Cheshire East Filipino Community is a vibrant and growing network of Filipinos and friends in Cheshire East, UK, committed to fostering unity, preserving Filipino culture, and supporting one another through meaningful initiatives. Initiated by Mrs. Pauline Tinsley and Mr. Garry Tinsley, the group serves as a hub for cultural exchange, social gatherings, and charitable activities, providing opportunities for members to connect, celebrate traditions, and take part in events ranging from the Barrio Fiesta to outreach programs that strengthen community bonds.

Creative Hearts United has been involved since the organisation’s inception, offering valuable guidance on establishing the group, supporting its formalisation, and helping coordinate activities that unite people. Their unwavering support has been instrumental in shaping the Cheshire East Filipino Community into the strong and well-organised body it is today.

The Renalytes

Renalytes is a Filipino community group in Leeds, UK, originally formed in 2011 by Filipino healthcare professionals working in renal units in Leeds NHS hospitals. What began as a close-knit team sharing friendship and camaraderie has grown into a vibrant cultural and social group, well-known for its talent in music, dance, and event participation.

The Renalytes are active in community gatherings, celebrations, and charitable activities, often showcasing contemporary and cultural performances at their events. They have collaborated with Creative Hearts United to bring creative concepts to life—such as themed stage designs, props, and even event T-shirts for special occasions.

Over the years, the Renalytes have become more than just colleagues or friends—they are a family united by shared heritage, artistic expression, and a commitment to uplifting the Filipino community in the UK.

Filipino Community Bradford

Promotes cultural heritage, social, educational, and charitable activities in Bradford.

The Filipino Community Bradford, formerly the British-Filipino Association of Bradford (BFAB), founded in 2009 by the Filipino community in Bradford, is one of the earliest Filipino associations formed in Yorkshire. It promotes cultural heritage, encourages friendship between the British and Filipino communities, and supports social, educational, and charitable activities. Through cultural events such as barrio fiestas, they continue to serve as a platform for celebrating Filipino traditions while fostering strong ties within the wider Bradford community.

Since 2022, Creative Hearts United has worked closely with the Bradford Filipino Community, exchanging performances at cultural events to promote Philippine arts and culture. This collaboration has strengthened connections between the two groups, amplified the reach of their initiatives, and inspired greater community participation. The Bradford Filipino Community remains a welcoming space for newcomers and long-time residents to connect, share experiences, and celebrate the enduring Filipino spirit of bayanihan.

Asian Global UK

Creative Hearts United and Yorkshire Filipino Group Award-Winning Projects

Known for organising beauty pageants and engaging in charitable initiatives.

Asian Global UK is a London-based organisation spearheaded by Ms. Aireen Gauntlett, known for organising beauty pageants and engaging in charitable initiatives. Beyond pageantry, the organisation actively supports communities in the Philippines through various charity projects.

Asian Global UK collaborates with local partners such as Equals IW in the Isle of Wight, working together on cultural and charitable activities and regularly participating in the annual Ryde Illumination Carnivals.

Creative Hearts United supports Asian Global UK by endorsing and assisting candidates from Yorkshire in their pageants. We also join them in the Illuminated Carnival, proudly representing Yorkshire’s candidates while promoting Filipino culture and fostering community connections.

Filipino Leeds Association

Best known for organising vibrant Barrio Fiestas in Leeds, which showcased Filipino traditions, music, food, and community spirit.

The Filipino Leeds Association (FLA) was a not-for-profit organisation based in Leeds, established in 2010 and incorporated in February 2011. Active for nearly a decade before its dissolution in 2019, the association played a significant role in bringing the Filipino community together through cultural celebrations and events. It was best known for organising vibrant Barrio Fiestas in Leeds, which showcased Filipino traditions, music, food, and community spirit.

The founders of Creative Hearts United were among the volunteers who contributed to these cultural events, sharing their time and talents to promote Filipino culture in Leeds. Their involvement with the Filipino Leeds Association helped lay the groundwork for their continued mission to celebrate and preserve Filipino arts and traditions in the UK.
