The Leeds Barrio Fiesta 2014 Santa Cruzan Parade unfolded as a momentous celebration of Filipino culture and the cherished value of ‘Bayanihan,’ symbolising unity and community cooperation. This grand event was organised by the Filipino Leeds Association (FLA), a non-profit Filipino organisation based in Leeds, and meticulously curated by Mr. Ronald and Mrs Emma Chu.

In the heart of Leeds’ Filipino community, dreams took centre stage on 1 June 2014, during the “Little Miss Leeds 2014” pageant organised by the Filipino Leeds Association (FLA) at St Chad’s Parish Centre.

“Move On Philippines,” a fundraising concert dedicated to aiding the victims of Typhoon Haiyan, one of the most powerful storms of all time. Haiyan, with wind speeds exceeding 150 mph and a devastating storm surge, left widespread destruction in its wake.

07 July 2013, Temple Newsam Park. The picturesque Temple Newsam Park in Leeds bore witness to the captivating Santa Cruzan parade, an esteemed Filipino tradition that inaugurated the Leeds Barrio Fiesta 2013. This event marked the commencement of the annual cultural festival and offered a glimpse into the Philippines’ rich cultural heritage and profound spirituality.
