On 27th July 2024, Queens Park in Crewe, UK, came alive with vibrant colours and joyful celebrations as the Cheshire East Filipino Community hosted their first Barrio Fiesta. Creative Hearts United played a pivotal role in making this event a huge success from start to finish.
Creative Hearts United has been involved with the Cheshire East Filipino Community (CEFC) right from its inception. When Mr. Ronald Chu, chairperson of Creative Hearts United, met Mrs. Pauline Tinsley, the chairperson of the CEFC community, our team provided valuable guidance on various aspects such as forming their constitution and navigating through the bank application process. It was truly rewarding for us to witness the community come together and thrive under our assistance.
One of the highlights of the event was the mesmerising performance by the Yorkshire Filipino Group (YFG) Cultural Dance Troupe. Their graceful movements and colourful costumes brought a piece of Filipino culture to life right in the heart of Crewe. The audience was captivated by their performance, showcasing traditional dances that have been passed down through generations. The dance troupe choreographers/dancers are Revson, Tebs, Vhie, and Jade. Dancers/artists are Nina Ricci, Grace, Ethel, Gigie, Lola Em, Rico, Emmalyn, Tessy, Cherry, Emma, Raeanne, Marriane, Chryza, Nathan, Roxanne, Jessica, Jason, Hara, Kyrah, and Sam.
The Barrio Fiesta was graced by esteemed guests including the mayors of Crewe and Cheshire East, adding an air of importance to the festivities. The program lineup was filled with talent and excitement, featuring performances by various artists and groups such as Little Miss and Mister, ECM Band, NJR Drums and Lyre, Ms Mervic Monocillo, YFG Teens, Justine Afante, Melton Boys, Belle Rigden, Inciso, Ifugao Dance Group, Ela Hidalgo & Joker Diva, Colambo Singers, and Spring Anthems. Each act brought something unique to the stage, further enriching this cultural celebration.
