01 July 2023 Ramgarhia Sports Centre. Creative Hearts United co-founder Mr Ronald Chu brought his vision to life with the debut of the Filipino Amateur Photo Competition at the Leeds Barrio Fiesta 2023. This competition aimed to unite photography enthusiasts and provide them with a platform to celebrate Filipino culture and landscapes through their lens.
Photographers from various backgrounds eagerly participated, submitting captivating images that captured diverse perspectives. Esteemed judges Mr Domingo Vasquez and Mr Dennis Paredes meticulously evaluated the entries based on creativity, composition, technical skill, and emotional impact.
The top three winners emerged: Mr Aldwin Sayo with “Fresh Air,” Mrs Mary Jane Warner with “St. Paul Cathedral,” and Mrs Carol Gash with “The Whitby Abbey Ruins.” Honorable mentions were also extended to several other talented photographers.
The competition’s success underscored the storytelling power of photography and the depth of Filipino talent, paving the way for more vibrant and engaging photo competitions in the future.
